New Years Eve 2016 & Goodbye's
2016, I learned so much from you and I thank you! Early New Years Eve morning I woke up with tears in my eyes just simply thanking God for a new day, yet as I reflected on the year I realized there were many good times and some truly trying times. Sometimes I can be extremely hard on myself and in that moment my mind started focusing on those trying times where I made mistakes, and wished I would have done a few things differently, or wanting things to workout that were not in my control. In this moment I prayed some more, and an affirmation that I used to recite whenever I made mistakes came to mind, "mistakes are the universes way of helping me learn deep wisdom first hand." God reminded me as always that what I have been through will not be wasted and that what is for me is truly for me. I know many of us hear this saying often, but it couldn't be more true. When we go through tough times in life it can hurt, but the important thing is that these things usually strengthen us, or make us better people while preparing us for what is yet to come! My feelings and thoughts changed as I remembered these things, and I wrote down the many things in my life that I was grateful for. Gratitude can really change your perspective on life, especially when you actually take a step back and see how much you have to be grateful for.
My favorite times this year were traveling to Cabo San Lucas for my birthday in June and launching my blog on December 23rd! I am so happy that I finally started my blog, because it had been on my mind for a couple of years prior and making the time for myself to do something that I love brings me great joy...especially being able to share a piece of me with all of you in hopes to uplift and connect.
I am looking forward to the New Year with excitement! I plan on traveling more, exploring more places in the Big City, taking salsa classes, meeting new people, learning French all over again, taking advantage of opportunities, and accomplishing all the major goals I have set out for myself--all while living without limitations. God has my back & so do I!
Leaving you all with this lovely quote, "The key is to fall in love with your life and by doing so you break limitations!" Love you for reading and I hope you all have very a Happy New Year XO!
Looking forward to wearing these shoes in the summer, they're from ASOS by the way!
